CAIRO: Essam Al-Hadari s Sion suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Basel in the Swiss Super League on Saturday to drop into the relegation zone.

Egypt keeper Al-Hadari conceded the first goal four minutes before the break as Jurgen Gjasula put the visitors ahead.

Scott Chipperfield doubled the lead on the stroke of halftime and Orhan Mustafi added the third on 80 minutes.

Serbian midfielder Marko Perovic completed the set of four two minutes later.

The result will only increase the worries of Egypt s goalkeeping coach Ahmed Soliman, who recently admitted that he was unhappy with the form of Al-Hadari.

The Pharaohs face Zambia later this month in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.

Sion, who moved into the safety zone with a 2-0 victory over Grasshoppers last week, could now face relegation.

They lie third from bottom in the 10-team league table with 24 points.
