CAIRO: Emad Meteb revealed that his start with Ittihad Jeddah was much better than he expected prior to his loan move from Ahly.

The Egypt forward scored three goals in two games with Ittihad, leading the Tigers to the top of the Saudi league.

Honestly I didn’t expect this start, I thought that it would take time to adapt to life with Ittihad especially because I haven’t played to any club aside from Ahly before, Meteb told FilGoal.com.

I want to say that the warm reception I got when I arrived helped a lot.

At the beginning I was a little bit anxious, but thank God I was able to score the team s first goal of the season. It was a great strike and it boosted my confidence.

The 25-year-old striker is hopeful to help Ittihad as much as he can during his season-long stay.

I want to finish as top scorer in the league, but the most important thing is to help the team winning trophies, he said.

Meteb s was subject to vast criticism in recent years in Egypt, due to his stuttering goal-scoring form with Ahly.

However, the talented forward seems to have recouped his finishing touch after joining the Jeddah giants.
