CAIRO: Mohamed Zidan has been ruled out of Egypt plans for next month s World Cup qualifier against minnows Djibouti, a member in the team s technical staff said on Thursday.

Zidan is yet to apologize for faking injury in June, the member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told FilGoal.com.

He should apologize in order to have any chance of earning a call-up to Egypt s squad.

Egypt goalkeeping coach Ahmed Soliman revealed recently that Zidan will return to the national team’s fold after serving a three-month suspension for disciplinary reasons.

The 26-year-old, who joined Borussia Dortmund from Hamburg before the closure of the transfer window, was suspended by the Egyptian Football Association in June for faking injury.

He apparently wanted to be part of Hamburg s pre-season preparations rather than playing for Egypt in their World Cup qualifier against DR Congo.

The Pharaohs need just a point against Djibouti on Oct. 12 to qualify for the qualifiers final phase as Group 12 leaders.
