Zaki, Mido score in Carling Cup

CAIRO: Egypt duo Amr Zaki and Mido maintain their dazzling start to the season as they helped their respective teams to thumping Carling Cup victories on Tuesday.

Zaki scored the second of Wigan s 4-0 drubbing of fourth division Notts County in the second round of the competition.

Senegal striker striker Henri Camara scored twice before Polish teenager Tomasz Kupisz completed the rout in injury time.

The on-loan Zamalek forward makes it two goals in three games for the Latics, who are yet to get a point in the Premiership.

At the Riverside, Mido scored his third goal in as many games for Middlesbrough, who thrashed third division side Yeovil Town 5-1.

The in-form Egyptian fired Boro in front after 11 minutes, before Didier Digard, Jeremie Aliadiere, Marvin Emnes and Adam Johnson ensured the emphatic win.

Mohamed Shawky has also started the game for Boro, who book their place in the third round of the competition.
