Egypt’s first National Youth Conference taking place in Sharm El-Sheikh concluded on Thursday, following three days of discussions on several prominent issues.

The final day included discussions on several issues, including topics related to society, the economy, and international relations.

A session on culture, identity, and religious discourse was held to discuss factors related to youth identity and the cause behind sectarian strife.

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, and several other ministers have attended the sessions since the conference began on Tuesday.

The conference kicked off with an opening speech from youth speaking about the state’s achievements and praising the government’s performance, in addition to two sessions on education and youth performance in parliament.

Sports, art, and workshops for youth took place during the conference’s three days.

The conference was met with criticism from some opposition groups.
