Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat has referred Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie along with 104 Muslim Brotherhood members and leaders to court for violence and terrorism that occurred in Ismailia in July 2013.

The violence left 3 dead and 16 injured, in addition to causing damage to public buildings.

The prosecution has inspected the places where the violence occurred and has heard the testimonies of 25 witnesses.

The defendants are accused of terrorism and murder amongst other accusations.

Badie was handed two death sentences in June, one preliminary and one ratified. Death sentences that have been upheld will be automatically handed to the Court of Cassation for appeal and if accepted a retrial will be ordered.
