In Libya, an Egyptian was killed and his body was found south west of Tripoli, the countries capital, state-owned news agency MENA reported.

Quoting a Libyan security source, MENA said the Egyptian national had been from Mansoura and was likely killed by a sharp object.

Violence has torn through Libya since last May when General Khalifa Haftar declared war on “terrorism”, resulting in heavy fighting between several secular and Islamist militia.

Egyptian workers in Libya, an estimated 1.6 million, according to Libyan Ambassador to Egypt Mohammed Fayez Jibril, have suffered from the resulting instability.

Thousands of Egyptians were evacuated in July and August to flee the chaos, and have returned to the Salloum border crossing, which connects Egypt to Libya, or crossed into Tunisia and flew back to Egypt through an emergency airlift set up by the Egyptian government.
