The Cairo Chamber of Commerce signed two agreements with the United Bank and the Social Fund for Development (SFD) granting loans to the owners of call centres across Egypt in order to fund technological development.

The United Bank will offer loans ranging from EGP 25,000 to 50,000 to be settled over a period of 30 months while the SFD plans to offer loans worth EGP 15,000 with a three-year settlement period, the head of Call Centres Division of (CCC) Ehab Saeed said.

“The agreement has already been activated and many of the call centre owners have rushed to seek the offered loans, which are contingent of fulfilling the required loan documents, including official IDs, tax and commercial registration, lease contract, utilities and insurance receipts.”

After the submission of all required documents, owners can expect to be informed if they are eligible for the loan within 10 to 25 days.

“We aim to fund small projects to encourage them to achieve growth and development in this field” said Saeed.

The CCC’s Call Centre Division has put out new mobile phone applications to facilitate a variety of services such as collecting telephone and ADSL bills.

“We have been improving call centres for years, and we’ve succeeded in developing around 529 call centres,” Saeed said. “The new application is an initiative to improve efficiency in dealing with the government, hence improving call centres across Egypt.”
