Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for Kuwait during a phone call with Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Tuesday, condemning the Iranian strikes targeting the Gulf state.
According to a statement from the Egyptian presidency, Al-Sisi described the attacks as a “flagrant violation of international law” and a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability.
He stressed Egypt’s categorical rejection of any attempt to undermine Kuwait’s sovereignty or security, reaffirming Cairo’s solidarity with the Gulf state and its support for all measures aimed at safeguarding its people and national interests.
Al-Sisi also praised the Kuwaiti emir’s leadership in managing the current regional crisis and commended Kuwait’s efforts to prevent further escalation.
The Egyptian president reiterated that the security of Kuwait and other Arab states is an integral part of Egypt’s national security, underscoring Cairo’s continued efforts to contain regional tensions and promote peaceful solutions to ongoing crises.
For his part, Sheikh Mishal expressed appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast support for the security and stability of Arab countries, according to the presidency.
The Kuwaiti emir also stressed the importance of continued consultation and coordination between Egypt and Kuwait to preserve regional peace and stability, address shared challenges, and support efforts to de-escalate tensions across the Middle East, while commending Egypt’s role in promoting regional stability.
