Tourism pundits believe new task force will resolve the sector’s problems

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly approved forming a tourism task force, similar to the existing ministerial economic committee, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled Anany announced on Saturday.

The task force will include the ministries of antiquities and tourism, culture, aviation, interior, and finance, as well as the Egyptian Federation of Chambers of Tourism.

Commenting on this decision, Chairperson of the Egyptian Hotel Association in Red Sea, Alaa Akel, told Daily News Egypt that this decision will help in coordinating between the different ministries to solve the sector’s problems.

Agreeing with Akel, Treasurer of Cultural Tourism Association, Ehab Abdel Aal, stated that the main reason behind establishing the new tourism task Force is to coordinate between the different ministries.

He further explained that each ministry takes a decision that might cause a conflict of interest with another ministry, so having this new task force is a must for coordination.

Abdel Aal gave example that in the hotels system the interior ministry conduct decision, meanwhile the irrigation ministry conducted another decisions, and the marine sector in ministry of transportation conduct other decisions, in addition to the decisions of the Ministry of Tourism itself.

“If the group member meet every three months, they will present the problems, discussing and reaching solutions for these problems, which will benefit the whole sector at the end,” Abdel Aal assured.
