CAIRO: Transport police finally got their hands on the notorious metro pickpocket, Al Gomhuria daily reported. Some of metro-users had earlier complained to the police that they had been robbed and implicated a woman in her 30s. Alerted about the repeated incidents, the police became suspicious of a woman who usually jumped into women’s car and started fights. She was eventually arrested at Al Marg station, where she was found carrying three mobile phones. One of them belonged to Neama Mohamed, a student, who was called to the police station where she identified the thief. Neama had earlier reported to the police that her cell phone was missing. The pickpocket and her mother had been wanted in connection with other robberies. They have since been remanded in police custody.
