Trains run despite prank bomb threat in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA: A wave of panic seized the Alexandria railway station after a prank call warned that explosives were hidden some where on its premises, the press reported.

Police equipped with sniffer dogs and bomb squads were instantly deployed to the station, but security forces came up empty.

The station’s director said that the hoax call was made from the Sidi Beshr area but train movement was not affected.
