The Egyptian Museum: a timeline of history

The iconic Egyptian Museum on Tahrir Square in Cairo was built to display the richness of Egypt’s history to the world in the form of 8,000 artifacts. It currently holds over 120,000 pieces and is slated to move to a larger, new location. The Daily News Egypt spoke to Sayed Hassan, the General Director of the Egyptian Museum, about its role as a site of national heritage, the plans for the new location, and on how he manages this institution bursting at the seams with art, science, and religious history.
