President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi conducted a surprise visit of Cairo’s police academy early on Friday that came in attendance of Minister of Interior Magdy Abdel Ghaffar, according to a presidency statement.

During his visit, the president inspected the military morning queue for college students and inspected their physical exercises and martial arts skills. Following the queue, Al-Sisi joined the students in a bicycle tour around Cairo’s streets and then had breakfast with them.

The president also discussed security efforts with the students and praised them for their efforts, also asserting that the Egyptian state has regained its prestige. He also thanked interior minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar and the members of the academic staff for their efforts with the students and for protecting the country.

Earlier this month, Al-Sisi made a sudden visit to the Cairo-based Military College and inspected the physical preparation and training programs that are being carried out by students at the military college. During this visit, he was accompanied by Minister of Defence Sedki Sobhi, in which both of them joined the students on a bicycle tour around Cairo.

The president also made a surprise visit to the academy in December 2015.

Since taking office as president in 2014, Al-Sisi made a number of visits to these colleges to inspect the students’ conditions.
