Al-Tayar Al-Sha’aby urged interim president Adly Mansour to implement inspections of all sit-in sites to search for weapons, in a letter released on Tuesday.

The group requested an immediate response by the government to inspect not only Rabaa Al-Adaweya, but also Tahrir Square and the presidential palace areas.

The letter stressed the importance of differentiating between peaceful sit-ins and violent demonstrators, and said that this initiative was agreed upon by Tamarod as well as other groups.

The group suggested delegating the task of inspections to a committee supervised by the Supreme Judicial Council.

They demanded this committee be guaranteed safety and escorted by the media.

Al-Tayar Al-Sha’aby welcomed all parties to participate in the national political scene within the limits of the law, and in respect to the public’s will that was reflected in  January 25th Revolution.

The letter added that no factions or individual would be excluded from political participation as long as they reject violence, incitement and threats.

The group called on the presidency to ensure justice for the nation by charging all those involved in crimes such as the incitement of violence, torture, and political and financial corruption since the January 25th Revolution.
