A Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) newspaper claimed in a 21 July article, that journalist Robert Fisk informed CNN of a military plot to overthrowAl-Sisi, in case circumstances in the country worsen.

Fisk denied the claim and told the Daily News Egypt that he refused to talk to CNN “because it reports the Middle East very unfairly.”

The FJP claimed Fisk told CNN on a call-in that there is a plot to get rid of Al-Sisi, if the political situation spun of control, in response to the question “Did Al-Sisi move in response to the people’s call?”

According the FJP website, Fisk claimed that Al-Sisi was behind the demonstrationand acting in collaboration with “conspiracy leaders” as well as members of the media.

“If there is a military plot to overthrow Al-Sisi please tell me, I don’t know,” Fisk told the DNE, adding: “look, a lot of newspapers quote me for things I didn’t say, I can’t do anything about it.”
