$750 average user spending on TV content in 2014: Deloitte

Television content dominated the majority of Egyptian user spending during 2014, according to a report by Deloitte, which the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology published on its website. The report said that user spending on TV content reached more than $300 per user annually.

Last year, user expenses on musical technology tools amounted to roughly $130 per annum, and the amount spent by one user on video games reached $100 annually. Concerning the expenses on technology tools, statistics show that video games came in third place.

The report added that the average of annual expenses for the individual reached almost $750.

Films came in fourth place during 2014, with average expenses on films at almost $90 annually. Meanwhile, annual spending on books reached $80, pushing it to fifth place.

The report stated that prepaid internet films did not come in an early place, because users only spend $50 of their spending on these contents. On the other hand, users spend $40 on watching sport games live, pushing these to come in the place before last. Newspapers came in last position, thus the amount spent on newspapers is $30 annually, from the total amount of $750.
