Pele “The Black Pearl” visits Egypt for the first time in 41 years

Coca-Cola, in cooperation with the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs, announced that Pele, the Brazilian Football legend also known as “The Black Pearl”, will be visiting Egypt on 16 and 17 February 2014. Pele’s visit, which is the first to Egypt in 41 years, came about as part of Coca-Cola’s celebration of launching the second season of Copa Coca Cola.

Pele’s visit will start with an international press conference in the presence of key ministers, state officials and a select group of Egyptian football icons. Key media representatives will also attend the commencement ceremony.

During the press conference, results of the Youth Centers’ final phase will be announced that has seen 200 youth centres participating nationwide. The final phase of the governorates will be also launched, currently scheduled from 14 February to 4 March.

The press conference will be followed by a huge celebration starting with a friendly match between “Copa Coca Cola Egypt” and “Copa Coca Cola Brazil”. The Brazilian Football star Pele will make a special appearance and kick-off the game. The celebration will end with an award ceremony for the participants and will also include a concert, fireworks show and many other entertaining activities.

The second day of Pele’s visit will include a number of surprise activities and proceedings for the public in various locations.
