The eighth edition of the FDC Summit is set to take place from September 22 to 24 under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Industry, and the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center.
The summit will bring together senior government officials, representatives of public institutions, and leading executives and experts from the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, alongside major global, regional, and local companies operating in technology, telecommunications, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), data centres, and digital infrastructure.
Participating companies include Orange Egypt, Palo Alto Networks, F5, Trellix, Thales, Google, Kaspersky, OpenText, Gigamon, Trend AI, ExtraHop, Infoblox, BeyondTrust, Ivanti, HPE, Juniper, Seclore, and Tenable, as well as MCS, AIS–DPH, We Innovate, ACT, and Raya IT.
The diverse participation is expected to provide a platform for direct dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration between global technology companies, Egypt’s business community, and representatives of key sectors of the economy.
Summit to focus on AI, data centres, and cybersecurity
FDC Summit 2026 will focus on key pillars of the digital economy, including next-generation telecommunications technologies and networks, artificial intelligence, data centres, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and data management.
Discussions will examine the integration of these technologies and their potential to support development plans across economic and vital sectors, while translating technological advancements into tangible economic and investment value.
“The eighth edition comes at a time when technological transformations are accelerating at an unprecedented pace,” said Tarek Shabaka, chairperson of the FDC Summit organising committee.
“The real value of these transformations does not lie in technology itself, but in our ability to turn it into opportunities for growth and investment and improve the efficiency of various sectors.
“Accordingly, we have designed this year’s agenda to connect technology with the needs of the economy and foster direct dialogue between the government, industry leaders, and global and local companies on how to leverage these transformations to enhance the competitiveness of the Egyptian market and create new opportunities for industry,” he added.
Shabaka said the FDC Summit aims to bring industry stakeholders together to discuss issues that will shape the next phase of technological development, including AI, data centres, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, and next-generation telecommunications networks.
“Our objective is for discussions to go beyond showcasing technologies to examining their real-world impact and how they can be translated into investments, partnerships, and more advanced services, while leveraging global expertise and bringing best practices to the Egyptian market,” he added.
AI is expected to feature prominently on the summit’s agenda, with discussions addressing its growing impact on business models, decision-making, productivity, and service quality.
The programme will also explore practical applications across healthcare, banking and financial services, industry, energy, and government services.
Data centres will be examined as a key driver of investment in the digital economy and a critical foundation for AI applications, cloud computing, and digital services.
Discussions will address Egypt’s competitive advantages, including its geographic location, telecommunications infrastructure, human capital, and access to Arab and African markets, as well as opportunities to attract investment and strengthen the country’s regional position in data hosting and digital services.
Cybersecurity will also be a central theme, with sessions addressing cyber risk management, the protection of critical infrastructure and digital assets, business continuity, and institutional readiness to respond to evolving threats.
Related discussions will cover human capital development, governance, and responsible data use.
Specialised programmes to support innovation
Alongside the main programme, the eighth edition will feature specialised initiatives covering entrepreneurship, innovation, research and development, and skills development.
FDC Stars will focus on entrepreneurship and innovation by supporting promising technology ideas and projects and connecting them with industry and investment communities.
The FDC Women’s Forum will address women’s participation in the technology industry and digital economy, with a focus on strengthening their professional and leadership presence.
Meanwhile, FDC Digital Lab will focus on research and development, skills building, and training, while connecting academic knowledge with industry and labour market needs.
These initiatives reflect the summit’s broader focus on developing the foundations of the technology industry, from innovation and research to skills development, entrepreneurship, and women’s participation, while connecting talent and expertise with market needs and growth opportunities.
