Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reviewed the country’s National Economic Transformation Programme, aimed at building a resilient economy capable of sustainable growth, ahead of its presentation at the upcoming Egypt Forum 2026.
During a meeting on Saturday with Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk and Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom, Madbouly stated that the economic agenda will form a primary pillar of the forum, which was commissioned by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
Madbouly said the government intends to use the forum’s sessions to present a transparent and comprehensive vision of future economic directions to citizens, the private sector, and the wider business community. Working papers reviewed during the meeting outlined plans to align fiscal and monetary policies, improve the investment environment, and support the private sector, small and medium-sized enterprises, and entrepreneurship to build a more competitive economy.
The officials also discussed government measures to maximise the economic returns from state assets and infrastructure across targeted sectors. Furthermore, the meeting reviewed current conditions and future plans up to 2030 to enhance social protection and improve public services in the health, education, and housing sectors.
