The Embassy of India in Cairo, in association with the Egyptian Syndicate of Engineers, Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), and Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC India), organised a special webinar on engineering goods on 30 September 2026, bringing together Indian and Egyptian engineering companies, industry representatives, consultants, and other stakeholders to explore opportunities to expand trade, investment, and business partnerships across the sector.
The virtual programme provided a platform for Indian and Egyptian businesses to exchange views on market opportunities, showcase their capabilities, and identify areas of mutual interest for greater commercial engagement. Discussions focused on the significant potential to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation in engineering goods, particularly in electrical equipment, building and construction machinery, aluminium, iron and steel, industrial products, and related engineering solutions.
Addressing the webinar, Ambassador of India to Egypt Shri Suresh K. Reddy highlighted India’s growing engineering capabilities and the depth and diversity of its manufacturing and technology ecosystem. He underscored the considerable opportunities available to Indian and Egyptian businesses to expand their engagement and build mutually beneficial partnerships.
Reddy encouraged companies from both countries to make greater use of existing business linkages and explore new avenues for trade, investment, technology cooperation, and joint ventures.

Mohamed Abdel Ghany, representing the Egyptian Syndicate of Engineers, underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation between the engineering communities and business sectors of the two countries. He highlighted the value of greater interaction between Indian and Egyptian companies and professionals in identifying areas where expertise, technology, and commercial capabilities can complement each other.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Vimal Anand, Joint Secretary at India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, highlighted the growing importance of the engineering sector to bilateral business and trade relations. He noted the expanding opportunities for cooperation and stressed that this is an opportune time for Indian and Egyptian businesses to deepen their engagement in the sector.
Anand encouraged companies to move beyond traditional trade relationships and explore sustained commercial partnerships, technology collaboration, and other avenues of cooperation.
Arun Garodia, Chairman of EEPC India, highlighted the substantial potential for India and Egypt to further deepen their trade and economic partnership through the engineering sector. He noted that Indian engineering companies have developed strong capabilities across a wide range of product segments and expressed confidence that closer engagement through business expos between industry stakeholders in the two countries could open new opportunities for bilateral trade and business partnerships.

The webinar featured presentations and interactions with Indian companies representing a diverse range of engineering segments. Companies specialising in electrical equipment, building and construction machinery, aluminium, iron and steel, and other sectors showcased their products, technologies, manufacturing capabilities, and solutions to Egyptian stakeholders.
The participating Indian companies expressed keen interest in exploring the Egyptian market and establishing business relationships with Egyptian companies, distributors, importers, contractors, consultants, and other industry stakeholders.
The interaction provided an opportunity for Egyptian stakeholders to gain a deeper understanding of India’s engineering capabilities, while allowing Indian companies to better understand the requirements and opportunities in the Egyptian market.
Participants discussed the importance of continued business-to-business engagement, market information exchange, participation in trade fairs and exhibitions, and the development of direct commercial contacts between companies.
