The second Asian Development Tour (ADT) tournament has teed off at Madinaty Golf Club, marking the 14th event in the Golf Egypt Series and bringing together professional golfers from around the world.
The tournament began on Monday, just two days after the conclusion of the first ADT event at Madinaty, which featured strong competition and broad international participation. The second tournament is scheduled to continue through 1 October.
Omar Hesham Talaat, President of the Egyptian Golf Federation, said hosting consecutive Asian Development Tour tournaments at Madinaty Golf Club represents another step towards strengthening Egypt’s presence on the global golf map and positioning the country as a destination for major international sporting events.
The tournaments also form part of the federation’s broader efforts to develop golf in Egypt, attract international competitions and provide local players with greater exposure to professional-level competition.
Ken Kudo, Executive Director of the Asian Development Tour, praised the Egyptian Golf Federation’s role in supporting the development of the sport and facilitating the hosting of international professional tournaments in Egypt.
Kudo also highlighted the efforts and vision of Omar Hesham, saying they had played an important role in bringing the ADT tournaments to Egypt and contributing to their successful organisation.
Egyptian professional golfer Ahmed Marjan praised the support provided by the Egyptian Golf Federation to local players, noting that competing alongside international professionals provides valuable experience and helps raise their competitive level.
Sean Ramos, winner of the first Asian Development Tour tournament held at Madinaty, expressed his delight at competing in Egypt, describing his first visit to the country as a “wonderful experience.”
The two consecutive ADT tournaments at Madinaty Golf Club are part of efforts to expand Egypt’s presence on the international golf calendar while promoting the country as a destination for golf and sports tourism.
