Pakistan embassy in Cairo celebrates 80th Independence Day

The Embassy of Pakistan in Cairo organised a flag-raising ceremony to commemorate Pakistan’s 80th Independence Day. The ceremony was attended by officers and staff of the embassy, members of the Pakistani community in Egypt, students and families.

The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by the Ambassador of Pakistan to Egypt, accompanied by the national anthem. Messages from the President, Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan on the occasion of Independence Day were read out by embassy officers, highlighting the sacrifices of the country’s founding generation, national achievements, and Pakistan’s commitment to peace, progress and prosperity.

A special performance by children from the Pakistan International School Cairo added a vibrant and festive spirit to the ceremony. The young participants presented patriotic performances reflecting their affection for Pakistan and its national heritage and traditions.

In his remarks, the ambassador conveyed his warm greetings and congratulations to all Pakistanis on the 80th Independence Day. He expressed his appreciation to the Pakistani community in Egypt for its enthusiastic participation and continued support for the embassy’s activities, and commended the students and children for their spirited performances.

He emphasised the importance of nurturing among younger generations a strong connection with Pakistan, its history, culture and values.

The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and prayers for the progress, prosperity and security of Pakistan, as well as the continued well-being of the Pakistani community in Egypt.
