Egypt’s Madinaty Golf Club will host the 13th edition of the World Golf Awards from November 5 to 7, 2026, marking the first time the global industry event will be held on the African continent.
The event will gather prominent figures in the sport and the global golf tourism sector, concluding with a final awards ceremony on the evening of November 7. The itinerary also includes the World Golf Awards Classic tournament, to be played on Madinaty’s 18-hole course, which was designed by architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. and is managed by international golf club management company Troon.
Omar Hisham Talaat, Chief Business Development Officer at Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG), which owns the club, said the selection highlights the quality of local sports facilities and cements Egypt’s position as a leading regional and global destination for golf tourism.
“Hosting the World Golf Awards for the first time in Egypt is a culmination of the great successes and achievements Madinaty Golf Club has realised in recent years,” Talaat said, noting the venue has been named “Egypt’s Best Golf Course” five times and “Africa’s Best Golf Course” three times by the organisation.
Chris Frost, Managing Director of the World Golf Awards, an organisation that evaluates top global golf courses, said they were delighted to organise their inaugural African event at the venue.
“The club is a global destination for the sport of golf due to its championship-style course, as well as Egypt’s ideal year-round climate,” Frost said.
Clinton Norris, Director of Sales and Marketing at Troon International, said the venue’s selection reflects continuous growth and Egypt’s international standing as a golf tourism destination.
Hosting the event for the first time in Africa provides a valuable opportunity to showcase the continuous development in the sport, regional infrastructure, and high-level hospitality services, Norris said, adding that Troon is proud of its partnership with Talaat Moustafa Group to support the club’s ongoing success.
