Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said the government is allocating EGP 6bn for the third tranche of the lump-sum export subsidy dues payment for shipments made before 1 July 2024.
Kouchouk said applications from exporting companies wishing to benefit from the third tranche of the initiative will be accepted from 16 August until 1 October, with payments scheduled to be made on 22 October.
He added that more than EGP 80bn has been paid to exporters over the past six years, while the government is targeting the settlement of all outstanding dues within two years. The current state budget has allocated EGP 48bn to accelerate export support payments, while export subsidies reached EGP 28bn in FY 2025/2026, representing annual growth of 55%.
Kouchouk said there is ongoing coordination and integration with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade to develop Egypt’s export support system and stimulate the export sector. He stressed that the government is working to provide the liquidity needed to enhance the growth and competitiveness of Egyptian goods and services exports, with significantly larger annual allocations for export support and promotion aimed at helping Egyptian products access new markets.
Nevine Mansour, the minister’s adviser for economic institutions relations, said EGP 12.6bn in lump sum had been paid to around 2,500 exporting companies during the last fiscal year.
She noted that the amount represents the combined value of the first and second tranches of outstanding dues paid in lump sum during FY 2025/2026, rather than being settled over two fiscal years.
