Safa Abdo, an Egyptian nuclear physicist, certified nuclear security specialist, and international youth and climate trainer, has recently joined Impact Team 2050, the International Youth Advisory Council to Alexey Likhachev, Director General of ROSATOM.

Impact Team 2050 brings together 13 young leaders from diverse regions and professional backgrounds who serve as an advisory group to the ROSATOM Director General on youth-related issues in the nuclear sector. The team provides strategic perspectives and recommendations on strengthening youth engagement in nuclear science, energy, and technology, and on attracting the next generation of talent to the field.

As a member of this international advisory group, Abdo has launched a Youth Dialogue in Egypt to address a key question raised by ROSATOM leadership:

Why do young talents, despite the green and high-tech image of nuclear energy, often choose alternative career paths, and how can this trend be reversed?

The initiative seeks to hear directly from young people, understand the factors influencing their career choices, and identify practical measures to make the nuclear sector more attractive and accessible to the next generation.

Through the Youth Dialogue, Abdo is bringing the perspectives of Egyptian youth into an international discussion and contributing to the development of new approaches for connecting young talent with the future of nuclear science and technology.
