Salah Gomblat, Minister of State for Military Production, met with Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Egypt, Dian Katrachev, to discuss ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation, saying Egyptian-Bulgarian relations continue to deepen with the support of the political leadership in both countries.
During the meeting, Gomblat reviewed the manufacturing, technological and technical capabilities of the entities affiliated with the Ministry of Military Production. He said the ministry places significant emphasis on developing the skills of its workforce and enhancing production capabilities by localising advanced manufacturing technologies and adopting modern production systems across its affiliated companies.
He stressed that achieving sustainable industrial development requires genuine integration between human capital development, technological advancement and the adoption of advanced manufacturing methods.
The minister reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to implementing President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s directives to localise advanced manufacturing technologies, establish strategic partnerships with the private sector and attract investment. He said these efforts aim to strengthen national manufacturing capabilities through Egyptian expertise, in line with the highest international quality standards, while generating added value for the national economy.
Gomblat added that the meeting reviewed the latest developments in cooperation between Military Production companies and several Bulgarian firms. He noted that the successful industrial partnerships established in recent years provide a strong foundation for expanding cooperation into broader fields during the next phase.
The two sides also discussed several issues of mutual interest and explored opportunities to exchange expertise and transfer technology across a range of manufacturing sectors.
For his part, Bulgarian Ambassador Dian Katrachev praised the manufacturing, technological and technical capabilities of Egypt’s Military Production companies, as well as their highly skilled workforce, saying these strengths encourage Bulgarian companies to establish promising industrial partnerships with their Egyptian counterparts across a wide range of sectors.
Katrachev noted that Bulgaria has historically served as one of Egypt’s gateways to Europe. He added that Egypt was the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic relations with Bulgaria, highlighting that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of official diplomatic ties between the two countries.
As his diplomatic mission in Egypt draws to a close, Katrachev expressed his appreciation for the constructive cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production. He praised the shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expressed hope that both sides would continue building on the successful cooperation achieved in recent years.
