Foreign healthcare experts visit facilities in Port Said and Ismailia

A delegation of healthcare experts, including the CEO and President of the American Steward Healthcare International Group, Armin Ernst; and the CEO and Managing Director of the Saudi Elaj Group, Mohamed El-Amin; visited a number of health facilities affiliated with the Egypt Health Care Authority in Port Said and Ismailia governorates.

In a statement following the visit, the authority indicated that the visit included an inspection of 5 health facilities, namely: Al-Nasr Specialist Hospital and the Emirati District Family Health Center in Port Said, in addition to the Ismailia Medical Complex, the June 30 International Center for Kidney and Urology Diseases, and the Martyrs Family Medicine Center in Ismailia.

The authority added that the visit included reviewing the journey of treating patients inside health facilities, the mechanization and digital transformation of treatment and administrative services to improve the work environment for service providers and facilitate citizens’ access to them. 

It also included reviewing the new medical technologies, and the various departments of health facilities.

Ahmed Al-Sobki, the Chairperson of the Egypt Health Care Authority and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, said that the visit comes within the framework of the authority’s keenness to enhance ways of cooperation with major medical groups in the Arab countries and the world. 

He added that the visit also aimed to exchange experiences in various fields of health care as a basic pillar for developing performance. “The health facilities of the authority are ready to implement the concepts of health care based on value in the global perspective.”

For his part, the CEO and President of the American Steward Healthcare International Group, Armin Ernst hailed the authority’s efforts in restoring the governance of the health system and applying referral systems, indicating that it is the closest to implementing the system of accountable care organizations in the Middle East and Africa. 

“We are studying expanding our investment in Egypt, as we have seen the seriousness and clear vision of the state in health reform and the remarkable progress of the comprehensive health insurance system,” Ernst said.

The CEO and Managing Director of the Saudi Elaj Group, Mohamed El-Amin, affirmed his great admiration for the capabilities and equipment of health facilities affiliated with the Egypt Health Care Authority, and the medical and treatment services it provides with international standards.
