El Mostakbal for Urban Development, the master developer behind Mostakbal City, has donated EGP 5m to the Tahya Misr Fund. The donation will go to support the fund’s efforts in mitigating the impacts of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

El Mostakbal Chairperson Essam Nassef said the Tahya Misr Fund plays a pivotal role in mitigating the pandemic’s repercussions. He also praised the Egyptian government’s efforts in alleviating the impacts of the virus whilst also preserving the health and safety of the country’s citizens.

Tamer Abdel Fattah, Executive Director of the Tahya Misr Fund, addressed El Mostakbal’s contribution as reinforcing the Egypt-based developer’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment.

The Tahya Misr Fund had previously launched the “Together, We Will Pass the Crisis” initiative, to assist the government in combating the ramifications of the coronavirus. This was through providing medical supplies and equipment for quarantine hospitals, presenting sanitation products for citizens, and offering aid to irregular workers.

The initiative has succeeded in providing 240 ventilators, 1,000 critical care fluid injection pumps, 15,000 protective suits, as well as one million medical masks. It has also provided 50,000 N95 masks, sterilisation packages and disinfectant products, 1,000 coronavirus detection kits, and 50 sterilisation gates.

Additionally, the fund has launched three large food convoys, through which about 6,600 tonnes of food, 170 tonnes of meat, 150 tonnes of poultry, 160 tonnes of vegetables, and 300,000 Tahini bars were delivered to over 500,000 families. The initiative was launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and various civil society organisations.
