The Egyptian Cleaning Workers Foundation has called on the Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to adopt a political strategy to improve the cleaning system in the country.

In a statement on Monday, Foundation Head Amin Hasan urged the government to form a supreme council for waste management in the country’s governorates, a monitoring unit, and set up a special budget for the cleaning sector.

Hasan noted that none of the government ministries could currently handle the issue of cleaning in the country, however, he asserted that he and the union officials are ready to cooperate with the government in reaching an effective solution.

The foundation mission, according to its Facebook page, includes protecting rights of cleaning workers in cleaning sectors, especially private companies, counting their exact numbers, and establishing a legal body for them.

It also provides its services for state bodies and non-governmental organisations, and inside cities, and remote villages across the country.

Additionally, it said the foundation seeks to establish new projects that contribute to tackling pollution, and establishing public, and private gardens.
