The Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) is hosting the 5th annual Australia Unlimited (AU) MENA road show, which is taking place during the period from 11 to 19 March, under the sponsorship of the Australian State Government of Victoria and Qantas Airways. Several leading Australian universities, as well as mining and healthcare companies, are represented in the road show, in which some of Australia’s world-class health and mining experts are taking part.

Through a series of high-profile forums, targeted roundtables, and official meetings, AU MENA is providing introductions between Australian companies and key government officials, industry stakeholders, and projects in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.

Under the name “Collaborate to Innovate”, Australia’s dynamic health research expertise will be profiled. Austrade’s mining mission will be the focus of the road show, which will promote the bilateral trade, investment, and cultural ties that exist between Australia and the MENA region. Major activities will take place in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and there will be associated programmes in Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Egypt.

“Australia is one of the world’s leading mining nations, with a particular expertise in mining technologies and services that help keep the world’s mines operational,” said Arthur Spyrou, Australia’s ambassador to the UAE. “At a time when many nations in the MENA region are exploring the potential of their mineral deposits this represents a good opportunity to talk about needs and capabilities,” he noted.
