Egyptians Kanzy Emad El-Defrawy and Zeina Mickawy will match up at the Bahl and Gaynor Cincinnati Gayor Cup final, which is taking place in the US, on 30 January.

At the semifinals, Mickawy knocked out Australia’s Tamika Saxby. The Australian player’s resistance increased with each game; however, the match was for Mickawy, with the result of 3-0 (11-7/11-8/11-9).

The other semifinal was between El-Defrawy and her compatriot Nada Abbas who started the match a little nervously, but afterwards, she became calmer which improved her performance.

El-Defrawy, seeded first, did not permit her rival to show up in the final, as El-Defrawy won by 3-0 (11-7/11-8/12-10).

2017 seems a fruitful beginning for El-Defrawy, as a week ago on 22 January, the Egyptian champion won the Corporation Service Company Delaware Women’s Open.
