3.2% growth in fixed telephone subscriptions in April

The number of subscribers to fixed telephones increased by 3.2% in April compared to March, according to a report by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The number of subscribers to fixed telephones reached 6.09 million in April, compared to 5.9 million in March, marking 190,000 new subscribers.

The report said that the ratio of fixed phones to the population increased to 7.02% by the end of April.

Residential subscriptions accounted for 87% of the total subscriptions to fixed phones, commercial subscriptions amounted to 11%, and governmental subscriptions amounted to 2%.

The internet market attracted approximately 200,000 new users in April. The number of internet users increased from 33.6 million users in April, compared to 33.4 million users in March.

ADSL subscriptions also increased by 1.18% in April compared to March, registering 4.05 million subscriptions, compared to 4 million in March.

Mobile internet services attracted 280,000 new subscriptions. The number of subscriptions to the service increased from 25.8 million in March to 26.08 million in April, a growth of 0.77%. The number of USB modem subscriptions increased by 0.41% in April, registering 3.53 million, compared to 3.52 million subscriptions in March.
