Flat6Labs, Barclays Egypt launch 1864 Accelerator Programme to support start-ups in FinTech

Flat6Labs in cooperation with Barclays Bank Egypt has opened the door for participation in its 1864 Accelerator Programme to provide support to entrepreneurs and start-ups in Financial Technology (FinTech).

The 1864 Accelerator aims to qualify a new generation of entrepreneurs in Egypt through the adoption of creative ideas that can open up new opportunities in FinTech.

Business Development Director at Barclays Bank Egypt Soha El-Turky stated: “our decision to collaborate with Flat6Labs in this programme comes as a result of the creative capabilities inherent within a wide range of innovators, start-ups, and entrepreneurs in the financial technology field in Egypt.”

 

Both parties seek to use this unique opportunity to introduce a new perspective for the future of financial services in Egypt, so they can reach the global banking market through exceptional ideas and innovative visions, El-Turky said.

Ramez Mohamed, CEO of Flat6Labs, stated: “The programme aims to support entrepreneurs in transforming their ideas into successful businesses by providing all necessary support and training according to the latest international standards.”

Those who show unique performance during the programme would receive required funding to establish a strong foundation for their projects and will be mentored by a team of experts to ensure the success and sustainability of their start-up companies, he added.

Applications may be submitted from 30 May until 18 July on the official website www.1864aaccelerator.com which lists all the required information and procedures in preparation for the selection process of the most outstanding ideas through a four-stage filtering process.

 

Qualified teams will join the 14-week programme through which they will receive financial and technical support to turn their ideas into successful and sustainable projects.
