ITC provides 77,825 with IT training in FY 2014/2015

The Industrial Training Center (ITC) has realised numerous achievements over the past fiscal year (FY) 2014/2015, providing IT training to 77,825 workers. This is compared to providing 35,457 workers with IT training over FY 2013/2014, according to the latest report delivered to the Minister of Foreign Trade and Industry, Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour, tackling ITC’s performance indicators.

The report further noted that ITC offered 73,255 training grants as part of its implementation of the Egyptian-Emirati project, which targeted training 80,000 youth, of which 44,000 have been offered jobs.

Moreover, 10,000 individuals are currently being trained in information technology professions in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

A total of 100,869 training grants have been offered, and 114,929 job opportunities have been allocated in numerous production and service sectors over the period between July 2013 and the end of April 2015, the report added.

The report also tackled the number of new training opportunities created over FY 2014/2015 in the industrial sector, with the textile sector providing the biggest share with 15,321 workers receiving training. The engineering industry sector came in second place, recording 10,264 trainees who received training.

Regarding the geographical scale, Cairo came in top place, acquiring training opportunities for approximately 22,955 trainees over FY 2014/2015. In second place came Upper Egyptian governorates, such as Beni Suef, Fayoum, and Minya, reaching 19,620 trainees, followed by Giza recording 9,395 trainees.
