A total of six small-scale explosions took place in different parts of the Cairo and Giza governorates on Friday morning, reported state-owned news agency MENA.

No casualties or injuries have as yet been reported.

One of the explosive devices went off outside an electricity unit in Cairo’s Maadi neighbourhood, damaging three cars, while another one went off in Zaytoun. Two more went off outside a gas supply unit in the suburban 6th of October City.

Two more bombs went off later in the day in the Al-Marg and Al-Amerya neighbourhoods.
Bomb attacks, primarily targeting police personnel, have become a regular occurrence over the past year and a half.
