The Internet’s development in Egypt and the increase in number of users have contributed greatly to the spreading of digital marketing activity lately. According to internet sector officials, it is a promising industry that is expected to grow by up to 15% during 2015, while the Digital Marketing Arts Academy estimated the volume of activity in Egypt at EGP 500m.

The widespread use of social networks and the number of users and their rates of activity prompted companies to allocate a portion of their marketing budgets to online advertising. Budget figures reached 15% at the end of 2014, and according to officials, social networks accounted for the largest share of internet advertising after the internet giant, Google.

Facebook and YouTube have the biggest share of digital marketing operations directed to social networks.
