The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Misr El-Kheir Foundation and Future Generation Foundation signed a protocol on Monday to support the “Values and Life” initiative.

“The initiative aims at supporting human values and democratic dialogue based on the national interest of the country,” the MCIT said in an official statement.

Minister of Communications Atef Helmy, Misr El-Kheir’s Board of Trustees Chairman and Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa, and Future Generation’s Board of Trustees Chairman Mohamed El-Refai were among the attendees.

Helmy said: “The protocol pursues MCIT ongoing efforts in community services and highlights the importance of youth role in the society.”

Gomaa mentioned that the protocol aims to launch societal involvement to empower volunteers with necessary social skills, while reviving these values through direct talks and organising contests.

The MCIT statement highlighted that the Misr El-Kheir Foundation will provide funds for the project’s activities in different governorates.

In March, the ministries of Communication and Education celebrated the achievement of several items from a protocol relating to the development of technical and industrial schools through IT.

The protocol aimed at upgrading technical education, vocational training and strengthening its role through the use of IT systems and communication in industrial schools.

In April, Helmy attended the signing of a joint cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Interior, aimed at integrating technology into the transportation sector to monitor urban streets. The protocol sought to ensure a quick response to traffic accidents and improve the transportation system by establishing safe and effective means of transportation.
