25 more people arrested on Sunday

Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) member Hussein Ibrahim was arrested on Sunday in Alexandria, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior.

Ibrahim had also served as the rapporteur for Agriculture committee in the dissolved Shura council.

10 more Muslim Brotherhood members were arrested in Alexandria, including the former dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University, Fahmy Fateh El-Bab.

The ministry statement added that the arrested were issued arrest warrants by the prosecution for inciting violence, joining an armed group and planning to overthrow the government.

15 people were also arrested in Cairo after Sunday’s protests.

The statement read that “minor groups” protested on Sunday night in front of Al-Iman and Al-Salam mosques in Nasr City and in other areas including Hadayek Al-Qubba and Maadi, “Security forces arrested 15 people for rioting and road blocking” the statement added.

The statement also said that security forces stopped students from Cairo and Mansoura universities, as well as Assiut’s Al-Azhar University campus from protesting outside their campuses.

The Anti-Coup Alliance, which supports former President Mohamed Morsi, organised protests on Sunday under the slogan “We Are All Rabaa” to mark the passing of 100 days since the dispersal of sit-ins of Morsi supporters in Rabaa Al-Adaweya and Al-Nahda squares on 14 August.
