Rome (AFP) – Italian police and customs officers, moving on an Israeli tip-off, seized weapons including a rocket launcher in Naples Saturday and arrested an Egyptian, the ANSA news agency reported, citing police and judicial officials.
The weapons were discovered in a container, the agency said.
The arrested Egyptian national was believed to be waiting to receive the hidden cache, part of four suspicious metal containers destined for Egypt.
Police and custom officials in the southern Italian port were investigating the contents of all containers, the report said.
