Egypt’s Delta buys 35,000 T Brazilian sugar

CAIRO: Egypt’s Delta Sugar said on Monday it had bought 35,000 tons of Brazilian raw sugar from Bunge.

The sugar was purchased at $631 per ton on a cost, insurance and freight basis (CIF) for October shipment, a company official said.

Delta Sugar is the largest producer of sugar beet in Egypt.

Egypt’s state-owned Sugar and Integrated Industries Company said earlier Monday it had bought 50,000 tons of Brazilian sugar at $628.60 a ton CIF from Eridania for shipment Oct. 15 to Nov. 15.
